For many years, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been projected by sections of the media as a self-proclaimed “Vishwa Guru” (global leader). However, within just 24 hours, this carefully built image appears to have been exposed. The same narrative that highlighted India’s global dominance often reinforced by strong visual portrayals of External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar now seems to be facing serious questions.
The most striking development is the emergence of Pakistan, a country India has long labeled a “terrorist state,” as a global peacemaker. Pakistan has been blamed for major incidents such as the Mumbai Taj attacks, Pulwama, and Pahalgam. Yet today, the same country is being credited with mediating a critical situation between the United States and Iran.
Pakistan’s Mediation and India’s Absence
The attack that America was going to launch on Iran—Pakistan played the role of mediator in that. And what did India do in this? This is a big question. Now because of Pakistan, this entire war has been paused for two weeks. And in all this, where does India’s foreign policy stand? This is a big question.
On this issue, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut sarcastically said that it seems like Prime Minister Narendra Modi was just acting as a telephone operator during this entire war telling people, “Today I spoke to this person, today I spoke to that person.”
Listen to what Sanjay Raut said:
“I worked like a telephone operator. Today I spoke to the Prince of Saudi Arabia, today I spoke to the President and King of Jordan, today I spoke to the Prime Minister of Nepal, today I spoke to the Sheikh of Dubai, today yes I spoke to the Foreign Minister of Iran… I kept talking… I was busy like a telephone operator…”
So Narendra Modi perhaps kept telling the people of the country how many friends he has around the world… who all he calls “my friend”… laughing and joking.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has now become a mediator. The victims of Pahalgam have still not received justice. But now Pakistan will roam the world as a messenger of peace. Isn’t this a failed policy of India? Isn’t this a clear failure of our foreign policy? Today we will talk about this issue and tell you why India needs to be concerned and what this indicates. The agenda that is being spread among us how much difference is there between words and actions.
Many people will say why are you being so critical of India when only Pakistan mediated?
The reason we need to be critical is because we ourselves have created the image of being a self-proclaimed “Vishwa Guru.”
Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a grand event in Ahmedabad for Donald Trump “Friends, I present to you my friend, India’s friend, the President of the United States of America, Mr. Donald Trump.” And just two days before the war, our Prime Minister was in Israel with Benjamin Netanyahu, laughing and saying “saffron saffron.” You will find many photos of Narendra Modi with global leaders laughing, hugging, joking and through this an image is being built that India dominates globally.
The Contrast in Global Image
Even Godi media had claimed that in 2024, the biggest global leader would be Narendra Modi.
But now it seems that Pakistan, which we considered weak and poor, has become so significant that Donald Trump who announced 24 hours earlier that he would attack Iran has now postponed it for two weeks because of Pakistan’s mediation.
Donald Trump’s Statement and Pakistan’s Role
On Truth Social, Donald Trump himself wrote that after conversations with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, and their request, he agreed to suspend the attack on Iran for two weeks.
Here you can see that in the very first line, Trump mentions Pakistan’s leadership and credits them for stopping the war temporarily. Earlier, when Pakistan talked about mediation, Indian leaders said, “We are not dalal (middlemen).”That’s fine. But Pakistan has now done it. On the other hand, remember 2024 elections there was an ad on Narendra Modi’s YouTube channel claiming he stopped the Russia-Ukraine war and brought back Indian students.
If he could stop a war then, imagine the global impact if he had done it now when oil prices, gas prices, and markets are affected.
But did that happen? No.
And now we are saying “grapes are sour.”This shows what India’s real global image is.When this war began, America said India is allowed to buy oil from Russia. We are taking permission from the U.S. to buy oil During the Pahalgam incident and India-Pakistan tensions, the ceasefire was first announced not by India but by Donald Trump. And repeatedly Trump took credit for it and Indian leaders didn’t even openly challenge him. Then what happened? Despite blaming Pakistan for attacks, Trump invited Asim Munir to the White House and even called him his “favorite field marshal.” What does this show? It shows the failure of our foreign policy. Look at our neighboring countries is there even one that stands strongly with India?
Before 2014, Pakistan was seen as weak. Obama pressured Pakistan over the Mumbai attacks.
Impact on India’s Global Perception
Now Trump hosts Pakistan’s leaders. Is this not a failure?
And now the same “terrorist state” is acting as a peacemaker. What does this say about India’s global image? A big question to Godi media: Do you have the courage to debate this? Why Pakistan and not India? Modi has good relations with Trump, earlier even with Obama, strong ties with Iran and Israel so what happened now? If Pakistan keeps gaining influence like this, what about victims of Pulwama, Uri, Pahalgam? We talked big about terrorism, surgical strikes, operations but today Pakistan is mediating globally. What does that indicate?.Opposition leaders are raising questions. Sanjay Raut said this is embarrassing for India.
Pakistan, which we called bankrupt, is now being thanked by Trump, Israel, and Iran. Peace talks may happen in Islamabad, increasing Pakistan’s global stature. And Modi? Busy campaigning in states. This shows policy failure. Now the biggest question: Will Godi media ask these questions? Or will they protect one leader’s image? hey will either justify why mediation wasn’t needed or call it a masterstroke.
Until then, we may have to wait for “Dhurandhar 3” to understand it.
Right now, it feels like all the global handshakes, hugs, and laughter achieved nothing. India hasn’t weakened Pakistan’s image, nor strengthened its own. And if Pakistan becomes stronger, it will impact India. This is nothing but a failed foreign policy of india.
